"I cannot speak highly enough about how Ryan guides me through a lengthy recovery process. My water therapy with Lindsay really built my confidence at a time when I couldn't do anything but hobble around; it served as a pleasantly successful transition to land therapy"
"As a healthy 72 year old male I take pride in my physical fitness, running 5 miles a day 4 or more days a week and three times a week on the cardio machines at the local YMCA. I take no medicine and so when I began to experience back pain I waited to see the family doctor. His diagnosis was slight arthritis and that physical therapy was advised. I visited, Genesee Valley Physical Therapy, liked what I saw and became a patient. I was impressed by the professional attitude of the staff and the therapy they provided. I am completely free of back pain after the therapy and highly recommend them."
Exemplary people, delivering exemplary results & service. Friendly "family" atmosphere. I like the thoroughness of the evaluation and treatment plan design with the continual evaluation of results. Room of improvements would be to have a partnership with more than the YMCA for continued work.
Sarah was the greatest! She is always friendly and finding new ways to make my shoulder better. The staff at the Buffalo Rd. location, are lots of fun to talk to and made my therapy fun.
"Physical therapy is hard and sometimes really painful, but it's easier to tolerate when you're in a friendly environment."
When doing my exercises, Andrew paid close attention to make sure I was doing them correctly, even when he was working with another patient. When Andrew had to step away to help another patient, I didn't feel neglected or ignored one bit. The staff is very friendly, they always made sure I knew what was going on with my care. Andrew asked questions that I'd never been asked before (what type of pain) such a simple question but really made sense and changed my treatment plan that their competitor gave me.
I felt that my feelings & concerns were discussed and given adequate time concern by Andrew. Everyone at GVPT is very friendly and so helpful. I think everyone does a great job in treating and caring for all the patients.
They all went above & beyond their duties to care for me. Karen, is patient & caring. They made it so relaxing and they made my time fun. There are no improvements!! Stay the way they all are from the therapist to the front desk girls.
I was finally ready to give up on ever being able to do any substantial amount of running again when my coach made me try one more treatment option. At this point, I had been struggling with what I assumed to be IT band syndrome for over a year, going from running 60+ miles a week, qualifying for the Boston marathon and training with a racing team in Rochester. However, once my knee pain started, I was never able to run more than 2-3 miles at a time, at best. Being a slightly neurotic person who is obsessed with running, this was absolute misery for me. I took the active approach and tried everything possible from physical therapy elsewhere to 6 full weeks of rest to pool running to ART to chiropractic work to steroid injections and finally to knee arthroscopy and rehab. When nothing worked and I told my running coach I was throwing in the towel, he asked me to see Ryan Healey at GVPT for one last shot.I had a terrible attitude going into my appointment with Ryan, but that changed from the first visit when it was clear that Ryan was not only extremely knowledgeable in anatomy and the biomechanics of running, but also really great at listening and thinking deeply about the problem to try to find the correct solution. He also was careful not to give me false expectations, which was something important for my fragile emotional state. To make a very long (1+ years of working with Ryan at GVPT) story short, he was able to identify many biomechanical issues with my running and prescribe various treatment modalities to correct them. And because of this I was able to start really running again for the first time in more than 2 years! This past June, literally the day I moved out of the Rochester area (and very sadly lost my wonderful, irreplaceable physical therapist), I ran a 10k road race in Rochester. It was the first race I had done in 2.5 years and I relished every second of it. Although it was a small race with a not very competitive field, it still felt like a huge triumph to place first in my age group - and most importantly, run PAIN FREE! While I'm not back to marathon running just yet, I know that the changes Ryan has helped me make to my running will have lasting effects and have formed a new base for me to build on.I can't thank Ryan and all the staff at GVPT enough for their caring, dedicated support over the past 2 years. They always went out of their way to fit me in for appointments despite my very busy schedule as a medical student, and it was clear that my success was as important to them as it was to me. I would absolutely recommend GVPT to anyone in need of physical therapy without any hesitation!
Overall, the therapy treatment was very successful. I'm very much improved & pleased and I looked forward to my treatments. Friendly but professional, you can tell they really cared about me & my progress. Thank You!
I truly feel my whole experience with Jordan, was very professional and above & beyond with care, concern and knowledge of my needs. The kind and considerate care I received by the whole staff is what i liked about GVPT. I really can't say anything bad about GVPT at this time because my whole experience was very nice as well as professional.
Jordan was friendly & helpful
